Icaros Shell Extensions — это программа, которая позволяет настроить отображение эскизов видео в Проводнике Windows, а также добавляет в него удобную панель со свойствами мультимедийных файлов (продолжительность, разрешение и информацию об исполнителе).
Благодаря данному расширению вы сможете включить эскизы для форматов: MKV, FLV, MOV, AVI, MP4, OGM, RMVB, MP2V, TS, WEBM, 3GP, 2GP2, 3GPP, SWF, MPEG и некоторых других. Мало того, Icaros Shell Extensions может исключать добавление в превью черного или белого файлов, добавлять на эскиз значок с обозначением формата и включать эффект перфорации. Также поддерживается ряд музыкальных форматов, в случае с музыкой роль эскиза будет выполнять обложка или любой другой графический файл, который «лежит» в папке с композициями. В отдельном разделе панели управления Icaros вы можете включить кэширование эскизов, установить максимальный и минимальный размер кэша, а также выбрать папку для его хранения.
Как мы уже упоминали выше, у данного расширения есть удобная панель управления. Она служит для настройки всех параметров, а также позволяет легко включать/выключать интеграцию с Проводником Windows. То есть вы в любой момент сможете вернуть стандартные эскизы мультимедийных файлов, используемых в Windows, отключить кэширование и отображение свойств файла. В случае удаления Icaros Shell Extensions с компьютера, она не оставит после себя каких-либо следов и отменит все внесенные изменения.

Icaros can provide Windows Explorer thumbnails, for essentially any video media format supported by FFmpeg, this includes popular filetypes such as: Mkv, Flv, Avi, Mp4, Mov, Rmvb, M2ts, Ogm etc. Besides the FFmpeg supported filetypes, Icaros also contains custom parsers, which can produce Cover Art thumbnails for Mkv, Flac, Ape, and Mpc files. Icaros also provides Windows Explorer properties for the following popular filetypes: Mkv, Flv, Ogm, Ogv, Ogg, Flac, Ape, and Mpc. Requires .NET 4.0.

Media Preview — генерация миниатюр для видео, аудио и графических файлов
Media Preview — это утилита для генерации миниатюр (эскизов), отображаемых Проводником для видео, аудио и графических файлов. Программа поддерживает работу со всеми распространёнными типами файлов, позволяет выбрать между скоростью и качеством рендеринга изображений.
Опытные пользователи могут вручную изменить нужные параметры рендеринга миниатюр, добавить собственные расширения файлов. Для аудиофайлов отображается обложка альбома, если соответствующее изображение интегрировано в теги.
При желании эскизы можно украсить рамками или иконками типа файла, прямо из главного окна Media Preview можно обновить или очистить системный кэш эскизов, а также проверить внесённые в настройки изменения.
Распространяется программа на бесплатной основе, интерфейс полностью русифицирован.
